Cabane de Moiry
As we were out in Switzerland for a few days and the weather looked settled, we decided to do the short hike up to the Cabane de Moiry. The walk up is quite steep and rocky in places, and we had to cross several small patches of snow, which some folks found easier than others.
Yes, this is definitely the path, identified by the yellow paint on one of the rocks in the centre of the image!
We were a little surprised to see some hikers arriving at the Cabane by helicopter. The walk up took us 1 hour 50 including stops,
The views of the glacier from the Cabane are stunning, though there is building work being undertaken at the Cabane, so there is a lot of disruption and noise. Once back on the trail, the quiet and vistas of the Moiry Glacier are amazing.
Once back on fairly level ground, we could look back up to where we had lunch!
